Competitions and Announcements
Announced on 2 nd December 2014 :
SKMClasses is organizing a " Chemistry Article Writing Competition ". All B.Sc Students ( and above ) are eligible for participate in this. So M.Sc, Ph.D, Post Doc, and Ex-students are all eligible to participate.
1 st Prize - 2000 Rs
2 nd Prize - 1000 Rs
3 rd Prize - 500 Rs
4 th Prize - 250 Rs
5 th Prize - 150 Rs
Interested students have to send email to Prof. Barin Ghose ( [email protected] ) and Prof. Subhashish Chattopadhyay ( [email protected] ) to register their willingness to Participate, by 9 PM, 26 th January. This mail should be of the following format.

The elaborate Article has to be on the following topic with sufficient number of figures.
Diagonal relationship between elements ( apart from Li->Mg, Be->Al, B->Si )
The Diagonal relationship details between Li->Mg, Be->Al, B->Si are too common. Found in ALL text books. So only 5% of the article can be devoted on this, at the end as last point.
50% of the article should be on Diagonal relationships between the Light Brown chunk of elements as shown below/( attached periodic Table ). These elements are Cu, Zn, Ga, -> till Tl, Pb, Bi.
10% of the article should be on relationship between Boron and Nitrogen.
10% of the article should be on relationship between Al -> Fe
5% of the article should explain why Mg is written above Zn
5% of the article should explain why Si, P, S, and Cl are written above Ti, V, Cr, Mn
5% of the article should explain why Th, Pa, U are coloured the same as Ce and also written above Rf, Db, Sg
5% of the article should explain why NH4 and CN radicals are in this figure.
5% of the article should explain new points on relationship between elements that were not talked of above.

The participants who register, will get acknowledgement email from SKMClasses. The article in .doc ( or .docx ) format has to be submitted by 20 th February, 9 PM.

Rules -
1 ) Joint writing of the article will be not be allowed.
2 ) If 2 or more articles are found to be identical or very similar then all those articles will be rejected.
3 ) In case some books or Publications are being used, at the bottom of the article reference to those will be appreciated.
4 ) The last point ( 5% of the article should explain new points on relationship between elements that were not talked of above ) may become the deciding factor for prize, in case of common inputs for other aspects.
